Use LithosAI with Cline

Before you begin

Install Cline CLI, create a key on the API Keys page, and choose a model on the Models page.

Configure LithosAI

Run cline auth, select OpenAI Compatible, and enter:

Setting	Value
Base URL	`https://api.lithosai.cloud/v1`
API key	Your LithosAI API key
Model ID	A full ID from Models, such as `deepseek-ai/DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash`

The examples below use deepseek-ai/DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash. Replace it with your chosen model ID and adjust its token limits and supported reasoning settings.

Optional: edit provider settings

Edit the record created by cline auth, preserving other providers, updatedAt and tokenSource. Keep the API key private and set token limits for your model.

Start a conversation

cline --tui --provider openai-compatible \
  --model deepseek-ai/DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash --thinking high --auto-approve false

Use /model to switch models or tiers in the same conversation.

Reasoning effort

Use --thinking low or --thinking high when starting or resuming Cline. max is not supported.

Set effort when resuming a conversation

cline --tui --id SESSION_ID --provider openai-compatible \
  --model deepseek-ai/DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash --thinking low --auto-approve false

Get SESSION_ID from cline history. Keep the same --data-dir if you use one.

/model resets the effort selected at startup.
